Eric Underwood

Eric Underwood is a former leading dancer with The Royal Ballet in London, known for his athletic, dynamic performances and his exceptional partnering skills. Born in Washington, D.C., Eric began his dance training at the School of American Ballet before joining The Royal Ballet in 2006. During his time with the company, he danced a wide range of repertoire, from classical works like ‘Swan Lake’ and ‘Giselle’ to contemporary pieces by choreographers such as Wayne McGregor, Christopher Wheeldon, and Liam Scarlett.

His unique blend of athleticism, grace and style has made him a sought-after collaborator for photographers, designers, and stylists.

Throughout his career, Eric has been a vocal advocate for greater diversity and inclusivity in both the ballet and fashion industries. He has worked with organizations such as Ballet Black and The Black Iris Project to promote greater representation and opportunities for dancers of colour, and has spoken out about the need for more diverse casting and creative teams in both fields.
